Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,
says Yahweh of Hosts.
Lift up your heads, O gates, and be lifted up, O ancient doors,
That the King of Glory may come in! Who is this King of Glory?
Yahweh of Hosts: He is the King of Glory.
BACKGROUND NOTE: 1 and 2 Chronicles cover the same time period as 2 Samuel and 1 and 2 Kings. However, 1 and 2 Chronicles are not a mere repetition. While 2 Samuel and 1 and 2 Kings give a political history of Israel and Judah, 1 and 2 Chronicles present a religious history of the Davidic dynasty of Judah. 1 Chronicles begins with the royal line of David.
The priests who served in the Temple were divided by lot into divisions. How many divisions were there?
David did not build the Temple, but he did make great preparations for it. Why?
Zadok and Ahimelech shared the duties of high priest during David's early reign. They were of the sons of Aaron. Name the two sons of Aaron and from which son each high priest was descended.
Who tried to dissuade David from taking the census that brought Yahweh's punishment?
Nahash, the king of Ammon, died. Because Nahash had shown kindness to David, David in turn wanted to express kindness to Hanun, Nahash's son. So David sent messengers to comfort Hanun. However, Hanun treated them shamefully. What did he do?
There were 288 skilled musicians to serve in the Temple. They all were sons, grandsons, (brethren) of three specially chosen men. Give the name of one of these three men.
In 2001 Bruce Wilkinson wrote a book called The Prayer of Jabez. What was the prayer of Jabez?
