Calvin was one of the great theologians of the Protestant Reformation. He was a prolific writer, and his works include Institutes of the Christian Religion, commentaries on almost every book of the Bible, and a large number of sermons. See our pages where we have reprinted excerpts from his commentaries and his sermons.

Calvin's Institutes of the Christian Religion would today be called a systematic theology. It is one of the most important works in the history of theology and should be a staple in every Christian's library.

These excerpts were compiled by Carol Morgan and consist of selected quotations from Calvin's Institutes on various practical applications of Christian theology.
