Content

Calvin was one of the great theologians of the Protestant Reformation. He was a prolific writer, and his works include Institutes of the Christian Religion, commentaries on almost every book of the Bible, and a large number of sermons. See our pages where we have reprinted excerpts from his Institutes and his sermons.

On this page, we have reprinted some selections from Calvin's commentaries that represent exceptional insights either on the biblical text itself or on Christian living.

These excerpts were compiled by Carol Morgan and consist of selected quotations from Calvin's commentaries on various books of the Bible.
