"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1.

The Logos ["Word"] was with God and the Logos was God. Why is Jesus called the "Logos"? What does that Greek word mean? How could Jesus be with God and be God?

These are the technical notes by J. C. Ryle that accompany his expository comments on John chapter 1.
